Our Solar Installations

Generating clean energy on schools across Glasgow since 2020.

Solar panels on Ashton Secondary School

Ashton Secondary School

Easterhouse

Our first installation, generating clean energy for the school since 2020. The 49.92 kWp array reduces the school's carbon footprint and electricity bills.

Pollokshields

Solar panels powering learning in one of Glasgow's Gaelic-medium schools since 2020. The 40.87 kWp array helps the school lead on sustainability.

Together these installations save nearly 50 tonnes of CO₂ per year, helping Glasgow work towards its target to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Future Projects

We have a target to get 1MW of community owned renewable energy installed by 2030 — that's 10 times the size of our existing projects. This is a big job but we know that the potential is there, the benefits are clear and the people support it.

We are building links across Glasgow with organisations who might be interested in hosting panels on their buildings. This includes local authorities, public sector bodies, colleges and universities, community and third sector organisations, and ethical businesses.

We're also working with local communities across Glasgow to identify and co-develop potential projects — rooftop solar and longer-term ideas for bigger projects too.

This work is supported by grant funding from the National Lottery Climate Action Fund and Local Energy Scotland.
